The following heatwarming letter of gratitude is from the family whose home our Josiah Foundation team put up in partnership with Bethel back in May of 2009.
Dear Friends, It is a pleasure to be able to greet you with this note from this town of Chimaltenango, Brothers and Sisters. I want to share with all of you who have helped us in our need, who have come together with the ministry of Bethel to resolve our problem. We were renting for various years, and the money that we earned was not even enough to pay for the education of our children. They were often sick as well, and one daughter was born with a hip problem and needed surgery. I was determined to do better and with the Lord’s help I was able to find a man to sell me a lot where we could live and not pay rent. He agreed to receive payments of $12 - $24 a month. So we lived there, for 5 years, under a plastic tarp. We did not have money to buy building materials. A brother in the church told us about the ministry of Christians who are building homes for people in need, so I went to visit their office. When I arrived, Brother Chris received me with open arms and I told him my situation. He understood me, and I was accepted on the list of people who they could help and we have been given a home. For this reason, my family and I feel so content. We no longer get wet in the rains, and we feel secure within our walls. On May 23rd, after they built our home, the team came to say goodbye, and they brought us gifts of food. We don’t have any way to give you something, but we send you many thanks for the effort, for your time, for the unity of people working together, for the financial support, for the organization, for the love and care that you have for us, the needy. May God bless your families, your friends, and your daily work. You are constantly in our minds, and prayers that God give you more strength and wisdom. Thank you for reading this letter. We say goodbye with a great hug. Attentively, Victor and Carmen with children, Fermin, Eulalia, Virtor Jose, and Maria Margarita
